So, who’s this Dave guy, anyway?
Hey, thanks for stopping by! I moved to Sunnyside in 2003, and though I’d been raised in the Boston area, it was like coming home. My father grew up in Forest Hills, and my grandfather taught at Aviation High School on Queens Blvd, only a few blocks from where I now live and work (also, I’ve always been a Mets fan).
I worked as an arts in education administrator, until the economic collapse of 2008 left me adrift. After hearing I’d been laid off, a good friend of mine asked if I’d like to learn the ropes of dog walking. I went to work for his Williamsburg-based company and haven’t regretted a moment since. In 2013 he retired and I decided that I’d open my own business in the neighborhood that’s been my home for almost 20 years now. The rest, as they say, is history.
Sunny Dog Walking was founded on a few simple propositions: That pet care should be safe first, as well as affordable, personal and flexible enough to respond to the needs of pets and their people. I live in Sunnyside and I take pride in the fact that I know my clients, their dogs and the neighborhood very well. I love animals, and I love working with Sunnyside’s animals.
If you live in the neighborhood and you’re looking for someone local, knowledgable and compassionate to take excellent care of your pet, please drop me a line.
